Dr. James and Dianne (RDH) Orcutt spent ten days in the Dominican Republic; seven days in city of Monte Plata (central portion of the island) and three in the Capital, Santo Domingo

The “good will visit” included carrying needed clothing and supplies to the wonderful people of Monte Plata and visiting the Portal De Belen Daycare Center operated by the nuns of St Anthony’s (sister parish to St. Catherine of Siena of Ithaca, New York). Toothbrushes supplied by Northern Catskill Dental Associates were distributed to the truly grateful children. The Orcutt’s with their limited Spanish (a few words and phrases) resorted to many gyrations and gestures as they tried to communicate to the school children. The kids were wonderfully kind, loving, and accepting of our limited speaking skills. The lots of hugs said it all.
